Founded in Copenhagen 1872, cabinet maker Fritz Hansen began producing furniture and soon developed an acclaimed reputation for high quality design. Together with his son, he became famous for furnishing some prestigious Copenhagen buildings including Christiansborg, The University Library, City Hall and The Supreme Court. In the 1930’s they became the world leaders in steam bending and today the company specialise in laminate wood. Collaboration with the internationally renowned mover of Danish modern design, Arne Jacobsen, has produced the classic icons of the Ant and Series 7 chair.
